Yep. I'll post a couple up tonight if I can find the scans on my home PC - all my photos are in storage in the Uk since I moved to the US earlier this year, but I'm sure I scanned in a couple.[/quote]

Great! Maybe start a new thread... It's Hawg Wild Fly's!

Gary,

You definitely have the most anticipated and naturally suprising posts on the board. This is just as a significant as the news that there were metal in three engines. I really like the direction you are going with this thread alot better than the others we have all read.

Thats quite a bit of help, and the money will, no doubt, be well spent.
What do you think, a little less than $500k to finish 6 engines and props. (IB & OB Spares) and then a bigger chunk to mount and house them.

That will keep the old girl going for a while!

More power to you brother! Good luck

P.S. Im really thinking "Gathering of Supers" now!

Bloomin marvellous news. I was only saying at the weekend that Fifi is a more worthy cause for donation than the white elephant that is our Vulcan.

Keep on keepin' on!

WOW! That is amazing! If only we could find more generous people like that! :) I first saw FIFI in 2004 and I can't wait to see her in the air again!

Gary along with everyone else your announcement about the extremely generous contribution to FIFI is fantistic news. I was all set to buy a forward seat in FIFI this past summer when of course metal appeared in the screens. So once again I can at least hang onto the dream of flying in FIFi at some point if the CAF decides to go with the same type of program by offering sponsorships.
Gary you are the can do man keep up the fantastic job you are doing with FIFI. As a member of the DOC group perhaps this gemtleman might be interested in helping out DOC as well.

Hmmm, Now I am feeling old

I first saw FIFI at an airshow in New Hampshire (KPSM)
That must have been in the early 80's

With this infusion of funds how soon before FiFi returns the air?

The first and only time I saw Fifi was at the 1989 Hoosier Hoopla Air Show in Valparaiso, IN.

I don't have a "magic date" set yet. We were not expecting this large amount of funding at one time, so please give me some time to work things out and get the ball rolling on the project, and I'll be sure to update everyone as soon as we have a realistic completion date established.

Thanks again for all of the kind words.

Gary

Thanks for the update Gary! This is fantastic news! Mr. Jamieson sounds like he understands the importance of preserving history. It is very comforting to know that those that are able, do.

Mike

Gary--

Great news, and a big tip of the hat to Mr Jamieson from another Canuck keen to see Fifi in her element again. Have seen her thrice...in '81 and '93 at Mt.Hope, then in '04 at Akron (with one duff engine, so she didn't fly).

Cheers

S.
