How far is this collection from Mather Field? Is it opened to the public?
We might take a few extra days this May and tour around a little after working the show at Mather.

Unfortunately it's not open to the public at this time, mostly they have private tours for historical groups or clubs. No charge, no fees.
Distance, it's about two and a half hours drive from Mather.

I've seen parts of this collection featured on one of those shows on the History Channel...I think it was one of the "Heavy Metal" series.

This guy's collection is quite impressive and even rivals the collection at the Patton Museum at Fort Knox, KY.
