Is a new paint job in the budget for Lady Lode Star? Or are you guys going to try and match the new metal to the existing paint?

Best of Luck

Mike,
Yes we are very interested in them since those are the only other blades in the world that we know about that can be used on our C-60.

Shay,
We would love to give her a new paint job, it all depends on if we have the money at that point in time. On the other hand, she would look more "authentic" if we tried to match the paint like they did during the war. Hopefully this winter we will get some painting practice when we repaint the Trackers wings.

Was going through my pictures and came across Lady Lodestar in happier times. I wish her a speedy recovery.

After looking at your pictures and mine. Focusing your attention to the paint surrounding the nose art. Was Lady Lodestar painted in a different type of Olive Drab or was this done on purpose?

Thanks

Shay,
Several years ago we repainted her ourselves. The reason for the 2-tones around the nose art is that none of us were brave/skilled enough to try and duplicate the nose art so we just painted around it.

Do you recall who originally painted the Nose art? Also is this nose art a one off or is it based on actual nose art worn by a C-60 during the war? Thanks.
