Great pics, John. Any chance you could post some of the Coronado as well? I haven't seen either one since the summer of '05.

Is that the Brewster that was being restored at Johnsville NADC?

Thu Nov 30, 2006 6:34 pm

Yes it is. Was one of the 5 or 6 that were shoved off in the weeds back in the late 50's or early 60's up in Tennessee. Sorry, I don't have a ID on the aircraft.

Huh? Where did they go?

Pensacola has the restored example plus major bits of another (of the Tullahoma bunch). David Tallichet now owns all or most of the rest. I believe some of the Tallichet remains are out at Pima.

Here is a little history on the Buccaneer at Pensacola. Back in 1974 the
bible "Veteran and Vintage Aircraft" reported that were possible 3 or 4
MK-1 SB2A's stored in Tullahoma, TN. Around the same time frame
"Air Classics" reported in error that they were Brewster Buffalo's, and that 4 or 5 were pushed off in the weeds at Tullahoma. In 1973 Dave
Tallichet acquired all 4 airframes, one of which was identified as FF-860.
The US navy acquired one and in 1980 was sent to Johnsonvill NAS,
Warminster, PA. Restoration progressed very slowly from 1980 thru 1997,
at which time the airframe was shipped to Pensocal. Another hulk had
remained on display at Tullahoma thru 2004, see photos, untill it was acquired by the Navy Air Museum. Hope this answers all your questions.
