I have always been curious if it was possible to stop or destroy a tornado. Like with a heavy concussion missile, no fragmentation, just boom. You always see the B-52 strike concussion waves, wonder if an airburst would disrupt the funnel?

We are under a tornado watch till 2000! This always happens when im at work! Glad the airplanes are at least in the hangars...but if a tornado comes, it might not even matter.

There was a tornado not to far from us on Christmas day. An F-2 I believe.

I am off to the coast for part or maybe the entire weekend. They're closing down Tillamook for three months after this weekend, so I've gotta go check it out! Back with pictures on Tuesday! Everyone have a good holiday (again)! :D

My meteorology teacher (a guy who had worked with the World Meteorological Organization) in ground school, mentioned the very same thing; he said that in one of the very rare instances where a tornado hit Guatemala, a guy came out and shot at it with a high powered gun, the theory being that the high speed would have an impact on the tornado.

I would guess that given the small mass of the bullets, versus the enormous energy of the tornado, the results would have been minimal, if at all.

Saludos,

Tulio
