I have taken a few more sections of the locator as far as I can. They are ready to be nit-picked. New entries, additions and corrections are all welcome. I look forward to them all.

BTW... If this was grade school Walt McKinney would be receiving a whole series of gold stars! Although I have received many emails with contributions to the Locator, Walt has been going above and beyond pinpointing many of the locations which I was not able to previously. Thanks Walt!

Question #8

The Colonial Flying Corps is located at the New Garden Airport. You can get to it off the Toughkenamon exit from US 1 just south of Kennett Square, PA. I live less than 10 miles, but I'm not sure where the exact boundaries of New Garden and Toughkenamon are, but either puts you in the right neighborhood.

I have the distinct impression this collection isn't normally open to the public. They have one airshow at the field on a Sunday in June each year.
Lex DuPont appears to be a prominent member of the organization, but I don't have a clue to their structure (as a matter of fact, it is definitely none of my business). If you want, I can go over to the field this weekend and ask if tours are available. I suspect the GA guys might have some info. I believe he collection includes a FM-2, PT-22, two or three Cornells, possibly a Gypsy Major, and others.

A better review of the New Garden Airport website indicates the Colonial Flying Corps Museum is open by appointment.

Thanks! If you don't mind Jeff, maybe sometime when you are around there could you figure out which hanger at the airport is theirs? The Google Maps/Earth images for that area are good so picking out an individual building is easy.

Hey Mike,
FYI, On the Hanscom AFB listing.
There is another airplane on a pole on the base.
It is a 3/4 scale fiberglass P-40 painted as the Stump Jumper.
Its due south of the F-86, just about 2 blocks away.

On the PA listing:



Allied Air Force is defunct.

- The ES-2D (BuNo 147535) is not on site anymore, word has it it went to AZ.
- The airport has been trying to get rid of all the aircraft. I'll be in the Allentown area in a few weeks and I can stop in and see what, if anything is left.
- I have pictures of everything that was there.



The F-94C Starfire in Erie:

- It's located on the north side of I-90 and just to the east of the I-79 interchage in the "Erie County Memorial Gardens" Rough Coordinates are: 42.0377 N, -80.1122 W
- I used to drive past it all the time when I used to live in Erie. Never saw it up close.



The F-14A in Northampton:

- VFW Post 7293, 5209 Springmill Rd, Whitehall, PA 18052
- F-14A, USN BuNo 158617
- I saw it last year, and it's a pretty impressive display. I can try to stop by in a few weeks when I'm out there.

I visited Queen City Airport over the weekend. The only thing left of the Allied Air Force / Allied Air Force Museum is a CH-3B USAF S/N 67-12576 Everything else is gone, and it probably won't be too long before this one's gone too.
