The Virginia Air National Guard had a 25th Anniversary Open House (1947-1972)on 6-17-72. On display was a civilian P-47D s/n 44-90471 N47DA, and was part of the Confederate Air Force. The P-47D was one of six acquired from the Peruvian AF in 1968 by E. A. Jurist of Nyack, NY. After a time The P-47D was escorted out of RIC by The VA-ANG F-105D 61-0159 where the photos were taken. VA-ANG photo by Robert A. Flournoy. Dewey Draucker, the VA-ANG pilot of 159 said: "I was flying the F-105D in the photo. The Thud was about as slow as it would go.
