I have much fun working on my website. You may or may not be aware that I have set-up part of it like a wiki where people can upload pictures and add text to airframe histories in a colaborative manner. I am hoping it will turning in a decent resource.

These contributions of photos and data arrive unannounced and it is always fun to see who has contributed what. This week I have been absolutely stunned with the contributions, specifically, those by a gentleman by the name of Kenneth W. Keeton. I'll let you enjoy...

Don’t forget if you would like to see what I have found on the history of these airframe follow the links into the airframe dossiers.

This one actually survives today and has recently been removed from display in Virginia for transfer to Davis Monthan. This airframe dossier is an excellent example of what I wanted this wiki project to produce.

BTW... This airframe dossier includes a sneak peak at one of my shots at the Pima Air Museum last September.

This one apparently survives today in Rio de Janeiro if anyone has seen it and has pictures I would very much appreciate an upload.

I should have mentioned that I expect Mr. Keeton will be uploading more pictures. To find a listing of his uploads which is always up-to-date, go to...

Also, Mitch Luetger, has upload a few T-28 shots...

Call me crazy (but dont call me shirlee) but in regards to F-105 61-0050 why would it be removed from display and sent to Davis Monthan for an uncertain future, most likely scrapping?

I doubt scrapping is in it's future. I would guess it will be getting a new paint job and sent off for display elsewhere.

I just realized Mr. Keeton included some comments with one of the CAF photos. You can read these yourself if you follow the links I provide. However, to make it easy for you...
Quote:
The Virginia Air National Guard had a 25th Anniversary Open House (1947-1972)on 6-17-72. On display was a civilian P-47D s/n 44-90471 N47DA, and was part of the Confederate Air Force. The P-47D was one of six acquired from the Peruvian AF in 1968 by E. A. Jurist of Nyack, NY. After a time The P-47D was escorted out of RIC by The VA-ANG F-105D 61-0159 where the photos were taken. VA-ANG photo by Robert A. Flournoy. Dewey Draucker, the VA-ANG pilot of 159 said: "I was flying the F-105D in the photo. The Thud was about as slow as it would go. I did not want to have lower flaps in the photo" VA-ANG pilot Bill Williams was flying the T-33 photo aircraft.

After I posted the photos I did some more digging and found the A-26 survived to become a B-26K and eventually race at Mojave!
ImageAerial Visuals - Airframe Dossier - A-26A Counter Invader, s/n 64-17640 USAF, c/n 29175, c/r N2294B

Is there any chance anyone has any photos of it racing at Mojave? Does anyone have any shots of it as it is now at Ellsworth AFB? It would be great to have some photos added to the dossier. (hint, hint, hint) ;-)
