Used to see them fly out of our local Air Attack Base back in the 60's, beautiful bird even with that big tank under the fuselage, those twin radials were like music and they were fast :supz:

The Fighter Factory FG-1D Corsair (92508), and the Kalamazoo Air Zoo's FG-1D (92509) are also sequential twins. I wonder if we'll ever see those two in the air together in the future?

Two surviving B-17s are consecutively numbered: 44-85828 I'll Get Around (static display) and 44-85829 Yankee Lady (flying). Both were former PB-1Gs. In addition 44-83512 Heaven's Above (static display) and 44-83514 Sentimental Journey (flying) are separated by only one serial. Aircraft -512 was a former weather research aircraft; -514 was a drone director. The aircraft in between was a QB expended in ditching tests, March 1949.

The Corsair being restored by the Connecticut Air & Space Center is Bureau #: 92460, eight numbers off of the CAF's Corsair Bureau #: 92468.

I learned reading Hidden Warbirds II that the Sandbar Mitchell (44-30733) and Panchito (44-30734) are sister ships as well.
