Frank Burns eats worms. Did he still own it when he passed away?

Wonder if he was an ex-military pilot?
Sounds likely, otherwise a Stearman seems like an odd GA plane uness he was a warbird or antique fan.
I vaguely recall that after MASH he did a sitcom where his character was a retired military officer who was building a homebuilt in the garage, so being a pilot makes sense.

In the early 90s, the Hollywood (LA) Air Force liasion office hosted a tour of bases so celebrities and (especially) screenwriters could see the USAF up close and Linville was on that tour. I met him when they stopped at Wright-Pat for some briefings. Seemed like a nice guy.

I remember seeing Linville on the Merv Griffin Show. He mentioned that he was building a homebuilt aircraft on his porch. As I remember it was a flying wing design.

Russ Francis bought Bob Love's P-51 after Bob died. Bob had 6 Mig kills in Korea and raced at Reno from 1964 on. He exactly won the first Reno Sunday race, but the way they scored it in those day it was by how many points you had over the total race days, so Milo Slovak was the overall winner. I crewed for Bob for 4 years and he was one hell of a guy.

Kenny g flew into my airport in a nice Beaver on floats (a warbird to some and harrison fords reportibly had bullet holes from SEA) Thought the pilot looked familiar but was too busy looking at his plane.

I think Harrison Ford had an accident in his chopper and dinged the bonanzas wingtip but that's it unless people think 7days was a documentary.

The famous Juan Trescher from "Ice Pilots" is building an RV. I know this because I was helping him drink beer in his garage and looking at the fuselage a few days ago! :drink3:

According to his Wiki bio, Larry Linville wasn't a veteran, but he did study aeronautical engineering at the University of Colorado before becoming an actor.
