I also added that it is a place for grown ups. There is a wealth of information but from time to time, chirens get into pissing contests but you can just choose to skip those conversations. The positives out weigh the negatives by a ton.

Just my 60 year old opinion. 8)

I agree the positives outweight the negatives :) And the new moderating team is working hard to make this a happy place for all! :drinkers:

For the price it's a worthwhile place to be. :D

If you see a positive post, say so and participate. Ignoring negative posts keeps the good ones on the front page. I wish I could see a good post with a lot of pages of comments.

It is a great place, and Rich is right. That is a great thread.

I promote WIX all the time. What a great place this is to discuss the goings-on of the warbird and classic aviation worlds! I personally have gained an incredible amount of knowledge from my time here, and the learning continues daily. Whether it's information I need to work on the classic aircraft at VFM, or just some interesting piece of "warbird geek" trivia, it's all good for me. I've also made some friends on here, and I truly believe that none of us can ever have too many friends.

It's true that we have some real dimwits on here, but probably better than 95% of our regulars are good people with a lot to offer. We all need to ignore the boneheads and just go about our business. Over the years, I've learned that one thing that many troublemakers thrive on is attention. I'd like to humbly suggest that we all try very hard to withhold that attention by not even responding to or commenting about their inflammatory or offensive posts, and then maybe the troublemakers will give up and leave. Don't give 'em any press at all. Just pretend they don't bother you (but don't write a post that says so, because that's giving them attention!). I know that may be difficult, especially in the face of personal attacks. If you're hacked off about somthing that someone wrote on WIX or sent to you in a PM, don't let it get the best of you. Instead, just click that little [X] at the top right-hand corner of your browser window and walk away from the computer for a day or so. I'll bet the whole thing will seem much more trivial if you give it some time. Just don't get all worked up over the little stuff. There are plenty of truly important things in life that need your attention. We only get a short amount of time on this earth. Make the most of it!

Cheers,

And in addition to that, use the "Report Post" feature! It looks like this Image and is at the bottom right corner of each post. The mods WILL see it, and you don't have to respond to the offending party directly. If you have a good reason to report it, we'll keep an eye on the poster and take action if needed. Don't overuse it (yeah, some do), but if we know that folks are annoyed, we can deal with stuff.
