Yesterday, I managed to make it to the Warhawk museum in Nampa, Idaho.

It is a small museum, but it is one that is worth visiting with plenty of time. There are the usual displays with WW-II photos and memorabilia, but
the displays here are very appealing because you get to see items not regularly shown elsewhere; from an Aldis lamp, through bakelite aircraft
identification models, through era-toys, jewelry, etc., all nicely displayed.

The aircraft inside the hangar yesterday, were:

AT-28D 51-3557 NX85228

NAF N3N-3 1918 N45305

Curtiss P-40 NX94466

Curtiss P-40 2106396

N.A.A. P-51C under restoration.

Grummann F8F-2 121748 NX224RD

Fokker Tri-plane replica

Remains of CG-4 Waco glider

Packard-built RR Merlin V-1650-3
Allison V-1710-81
OX-5
Radial engine (I did not write the model down.)

Outside the hangar, there is an Unid. F-86 Sabre, wings, engine.

The F8F as you all know, is Mr. Ray Dieckman's.

The airplane was being readied for a possible ferry flight back to Chino, weather permitting.

In any case, the airplane was towed out of the hangar, fired up and flow for one circuit, and then landed to refuel. At this point, I had to
leave the airfield and museum, to go to work . . .

With my thanks to Max Pearcy, Dave King and Tony Spears!

You're welcome, Dennis.

I have more photos (but not reduced in size) if you are interested.

Any idea on what the time table for the first flight for the P-51C is?

Looks good, I like the A,B,C models of the horses. Just a bit different form the norm.

Tim

Woohoo! Most excellent news, Mr. Paul!

Any chance you might be enticed to show her off somewhere east of the Mississippi? Oh, I don't know...say somewhere in Wisconsin?

Tulio,
I second the comment re nice report!
Can you confirm that this collection is at Nampa Muni please? For some reason I seem to have a note that it was at nearby Cauldwell Industrial.
Regards
Andy Marden

Andy:

Yes, the museum is now located at the Nampa airport, moved from Caldwell some time ago.

Left at Caldwell there is an artillery piece and a tracked vehicle, both in need of lots of TLC.

The new museum, although small by any museum standards, is really great. The items displayed are very interesting, eclectic and cover a lot of ground.

Time is what I don't usually have, and I wish that I could have gone back again, because this place deserves a good first and a second or more visits.

The staff were very nice and this is also a big selling point with me.

Saludos,

Tulio
