North American T-6G Texan 49-3121 converted to a LT-6G for battlefield surveillance and forward air controller duties and went to the Austrian Air Force/Österreichische Luftstreitkräfte on October 1959 as 49-3121; code 4C-TA. SOC January 1967
A total of 97 AT-6's were modified as LT-6G's. Nicknamed "Mosquito".
During the Korean War, the North American T-6 was adapted for use as a Forward Air Controller (FAC), with better communications equipment and smoke rockets that could be used as markers for strike aircraft.
