So Rob works in a Kitchen! So what! Aren’t we all created equal.
I'm not sure who you were directing this comment toward, but since it
was a comment about Rob being a cook I guess this is for me? I know a
lot of fine cooks and I recall that Rob is no slouch as a cook or in the
ownership(IIRC) of his establishment. I was referring to a tongue-in-cheek
humour about why Steve Patterson put his aircraft up for sale. I think you
misunderstood my drift.

Why don't you tell me! Why do we keep stoking the fire?
I dunno BW, that's only a question you can answer. Why can't you just not
let him get under your skin? Agree to disagree or ignore him and move on.
You made a comment on the Homeless thread, which I see has been pulled now,
something to the effect of no one agrees with him. Well, that's
not necessarily true, it's mostly the more conservative WIXers who raise
the highest ruckus about..arguably the ONE most vocal Liberal on the WIX.
There are quite a few not so liberal...and quite a few more moderates, who
may lean more toward his opinion in one case or another, but more toward
yours in others. Some of us I'll wager can see the train wreck coming and
choose to step aside.

My computer died in a T-storm a few months back and I infrequently am able
to post. I read farely often but at odd hours at a private recording studio,
so I have to plan my time carefully if I want to post without interruption.

Bill had started the thread on the protesters and made references to the
FBI instigators of the 60's..COINTELLPRO was the program, and he was
taking the "liberal line" which is common amongst the Left. You "righties"
were having fits and I went off to dig up and post info about the the SLA,
Underground Weathermen, and some of the more radical organizations
of the Left which needed no prodding by the FBI. By the time I could make time to
post the info and my disagreement with using vandalism as
a freedom of speech...the thread was gone. I believe you and I would have been in
the same camp on that one...or closer at least.

I took off work today specifically to enjoy sharing some reading I've been
doing sans computer(yes real paper books) about WW2 history. One of
the threads was Bill's about the Homeless. Was Bill being sneaky by including
the Vets as part of the statistics, I dunno but facts is facts and an inordinate
number of them are Vets. There was a program which was on 20/20 or 60
minutes recently which outlined a city program where they housed and
foodstamped the homeless...a successful program which reduced the
drain on the local and federal resources because having them off the street
with food in their gut was much cheaper than the hospital bills the were running up
by living on the street,. But we can't discuss that now, because the thread
is gone...
I guess that woulda' been more towards Bill's side of things
Sometimes the gubment doesn't need to do all the doin'. We have our very
own homeless Veteran living here behind the studio in the RV which was
last used for Talledega and our annual "beer and gun club" outings. Mike
dropped off our radar screen 6 months ago, turned up here recently had had
a stroke and a heart attack, was dicked-around by the VA regarding his
benefits and was living in his truck. He's got a good Veterans Advocate
now that one of "da boys" hooked him up with. He'll live here till his
Social Security and VA bennies come thru soon. We give him some work
he can handle sorting parts and nuts and bolts in the shop.
I was not for political discussion in the Hangar Forum, but if people of similar
ilk cannot discuss these issues in Off Topic then where can we. If every
human issue is too political how are we as a like minded folks going to
understand what's going on? Sure trouble can happen, but we're adults here.
Not every topic has to be discussed in a day. Take some time and think
some stuff thru.
