Surprise, surprise....never knew the F-16 was equiped to catch a trap on a carrier. The Navy was never equipped with them. Maybe some demo models were so equipped to try to sell the F-16 to the Navy but it would be news to me...Tom

The navy did use F-16s as adversary aircraft at Miramar.

:lol: what a joke........ i used to be an authorized breitling dealer account in the family biz, & we were never privy to this stuff. as AUTHORIZED BREITLING watch dealers, you've got certain perks........ nothing like that!!! trust me, i begged the rep for anything i could!! as an authorized rolex dealer i can't even wangle a chuck yeager autograph, & he's their #1 spokesman!!!

F-16's (as well as the Northrop F-5's) are equipped with tailhooks.... for emergency landings at airfields.... as alternative to running into crash-nets at the end of the runway...

Yeah, I was aware of that, but I was laughing at the "Aircraft Carrier" part. Was that ever tested?
