Definitely use the violin - and amp it up on a mic somehow. Try to play like a first month student (which is actually kind of hard once you get to be a bit better... how do I know?

). Of course, I would personally never do such a thing - but if annoyance is what you're going for, that'd definitely beat the guitar.
I'd be trying really hard to find a different place, money or no - and coming up with creative ways to bump the income up a bit. It also might not hurt to see if you.
Any way you could see if there's someone who'd be willing to let you board at their place in exchange for some work?
Oh, and is there a reason you can't haul off and marry the girl? Maybe she could take a semester off - or go part time and ya'll could try to get ahead of the power curve on the money side of things. Dave Ramsey is a good place to start.
