AME said "No problemo". I just have to get a letter from my PCP that says my hypertension and diabetes are well controlled. Asked my PCP to do that for me and he said he have the letter to the AME on Monday.
Also got my Cessna Pilot Kit today and my lessons start on the 14th for 3 straight days and then I go to a M-W-F schedule.
Ordered a David Clark X11 headset.
Just hope I can learn all this stuff.

Has to be a specific doc that does flight medicals, I think you find em on the FAA website.

To find an AME near you, go to:
www.faa.gov
select
Licenses & Certificates
select
Medical
select
Get a Medical Certificate
That'll take you to a page where you can look for an AME by State or County or City or by zip code.

ps AME is Aviation Medical Examiner

Just because your AME said your O.K. does not mean that the friendly FAA will not kick it back to you to prove your fit. And once the AME is payed he will wash his hands of you.
The FAA does not like hypertension and diabetes.
My guess is your going to need a PRECISE letter (Most Doc's don't have a clue) and your last three blood presure readings from you PCP for the hypertension. For the diabetes I don't have a clue but that group you join does, give AOPA a call and good luck.
Phil
P.S. You can use AOPA's web site to find a AME.
