Subject: Glacier Girl

Hello,
I need your help. I participate in the Warbird Information Exchange forum.
There’s a quite lengthy discussion going on, at this time, about future plans for Glacier Girl. The discussion started because of a rumor that Glacier Girl would be going to Duxford for the Flying Legends airshow in July. The discussion started out as a “would she or wouldn’t she” and has evolved into a “should she or shouldn’t she”.
Would you be kind enough to tell me/us if there is such a plan?
I will, of course, understand if you should simply say, “None of your business”.
Kindest regards,
Brad Eney

Here's the answer I got:

The plan is that Glacier Girl will fly to England this summer to retrace its
original mission.

Thanks

Simon Brown

So it's just like they said on the Air and Space Mag website...

Hinton is going to fly her across the pond.

Hey Mudge,

I commend you on going to the source and finding out the answer instead of speculating. It's much easier hey.

Cheers,

David

Rats Mudge! All that speculation for nothing. Thanks a lot... :x

Didn't you think to ask Simon if GG had been sold to a new owner?

Brandon...no, didn't think to ask because I hadn't heard that yet.
Keep in mind...Boghopper says he heard it was sold to someone in NZ and will be headed there.
Can we please not start an endless argument as to whether it's feasible to fly it to NZ?

I'd heard a pole to pole attempt was being planned. Apparently, after it's ice incarceration, Glacier Girl's regarded as 'acclimatized'. :D

It would be very difficult and a very risky proposition for such a rare aircraft...............

I heard someone once slipped while towing an aircraft out of the hangar...

Strange, I've heard that they are about to scrap the a/c and make pots and pans out of it. I've already ordered my set. And my girlfriend is so thrilled... :P
