The e-mail and the story about the Brownie camera are fake. This has been going around the net for awhile now.
Whats the possibility that this one sailor didn't attend general quarters and somehow drove all over the island taking pics from all sorts of different locations during an attack???

Regards,
Mike

LMAO... Hey Nate, here's another one! I should start keeping track of how many places this same exact BS story has appeared. It's shown up on pretty much every forum and photo sharing site I frequent and I dunno how many emails I've received; some from folks who should know better...

I wouldn't worry too much about it.

If anything, it's good that folks are getting to see these photos... again, and again... Seriously though, even though the story is BS, we who have seen these before (many times!) have to remember that there are folks who haven't seen them So, despite the accompanying story which should be mercilessly hammered into the ground, I'm kinda glad that the photos are being plastered all over the place because it might help raise a bit of awareness among the younger generations. If we can pull them outta the hip-hop clubs and away from their mobile devices for a second or two, that is...

Fade to Black...

Hmmm, I wonder if I could get those sailors to just keep pushin' that ol' PBY over to my house and park it next to the other one.

While the background of the story is pretty hard to swallow I am still glad you posted them. While some are pretty common and have been included in dozens of books there are some that I have never seen before.

Thanks :D

When I posted and everyone told me to look at an earlier thread about this being a scam I felt bad, I had been out of pocket for a couple of weeks and hadnt checked ealier posts.
But now I am glad I posted them, they have been seen by 413 people.
It may be a scam but we still need to remember that day, and maybe someone who saw this post has never seen these before. :D

A followup under snopes is the archival link, which has a bunch of other pictures of Pearl Harbor, should you be interested to see them:
