I'll have some free time this weekend, and I'm planning to drive on up to Winnipeg, and visit for sure the Western Canada Aviation Museum. I have a quick question though:

Are the birds mounted on poles at the Air Force Heritage Park and the Navigation School accessible to the public?

Thanks in advance.

Go to...

http://www.aerialvisuals.ca/Locator.html#Canada_MB

...then pan down to Winnipeg. I don't think you will have any trouble getting to view them all, other than it is likely to darn cold.

When you get back let me know if you think there are any notes I should add to the Locator entries.

Mike

Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.

more info http://www.world66.com/northamerica/canada/manitoba/winnipeg/museums/airforceheritageparkmuseum

the heritage park in on the sse side of the airport via Sharpe Blvd off ness avenue - all open ot the public, I bike over there lots in the summer.

There is also a medal display in the air command ( BIlly Bishop bldg) on the west side of the road accross from the airforce heritage park

the Beech 18 and DC3, and the B25 are on the west side of the airport via Whytewold Ave off Ness Ave inside the air base complex, there is a guard at the gate.

the WCAM air museum is on the east side of the airport via Ferry Road at Ellice Ave.

all are about 10 minutes drive apart.

Hope you have a great visit.
