what's with the wing on the uniform with the guy to the far left of bong?? is it bullion??, raf?? hard to tell. doesn't look to be standard issue.

They look like RAF or RCAF.

That's Maj. Wally Jordan 6 kill ace and CO of the 9th FS.
He was one of the most respected P-38 leaders in the SWP. 8)
Those are just bullion wings possibly Aussie made.

Just a quick question though. The P-38 in the fourth photo. On the nose gear. Is that nose gear steering on the P-38 or just a shimmy damper?

It's a shimmy dampner.
P-38 didn't have nose wheel steering. In fact I can't think of
any early tricycle geared a/c that did.
