There is even film of the 'Proctukas' flying in the World Backgrounds footage!

Why was the footage of these a/c in flight not actually used in the film? Was the performance not convincing?

Also what was their fate post BoB?

I think they were scrapped. Only some testflights were made. They were deamed ultra-dangerous to fly, so no-one tried again.

Interesting. I don't think cameras ever rolled on the full size replicas. Are you shure that films not of the models?

Fouga's right. See my earlier post. They couldn't dive... And the scared a very experienced film aircraft designer and pilot. Scrapped.

As I said, issue one of Warbird Digest. It's got lots of other great articles too. :D

So far I have found two short sequences in Panavision of a single 'Proctuka' flying low towards the camera over an airfield. I understand that there may well be others.

The remains of one of the 'Proctukas' can be seen in the film 'Adolf Hitler, My Part In His Downfall' where it is burned before our eyes!

Out of interest Mick Charles designed and built a lot if not all of the RC Models for the film. All of the Stuka footage and most of the Hienkel stuff was shot in the UK, but when the weather turned they moved to Malta to get the rest.
