Personalize your unlimited air-racer!

I am wondering to everybody out there, what warbird would you pick as an air racer? Get creative and original.

Me: I'd probably have a corsair out on the pylons. Highly modified, clipped wings, the works!

That or maybe a P-38! :) What would you guys have?

A P-39 painted to match the original Cobra I
Griffon powered Spit

I would have an all high gloss black Corsair. Tinted canopy, and 00 for a racing number.

How about a Griffon powered P-39? 5-bladed prop or contra-props???? Without the guns you could probably afford the weight of contra-props up front.

A Do335 like this one...but only a singler-seater, and not made out of Legos.

New build Tsunami with a Thorn Mouse Merlin, Kerch as a crew chief, and Steve Bartholf, Mike Wilton and Dave Fagoaga as some of the crew members.

So, who's gonna be in second place...? :D

I would like to revive the Pond Racer concept. But it would no longer be allowed at Reno, so I'd have to find someplace to race it where "unlimited" means unlimited.

Just curious as to why ?

Are they new rules that prevents a scratch built design to enter ?

I think that we all over looked a great aircraft for this. I think the best aircraft for the race would be the Defender!

They have a 4,500-lb. weight minimum now that is intended to prevent new technology from out-competing the warbirds.

I'm in with a slightly modified BF-109 K-4.

If I could have a turbine powered entry, I would take a cleaned up Piper PA-48
