Hello All,

You guys were all so helpful providing info about the Palwaukee Wildcat a few weeks back that I thought I would try one more on ya...

I saw a photo in (I think) a past issue of Warbirds Illustrated or Air Classics that showed a P-40 Warhawk mounted on the roof of a building in the town of Everett, Washington back in either the '60's or '70's. I guess it was serving as an advertising tool or some such thing. I'd love to know what plane that was, and what became of it.

Can anyone provide further info or photos showing this P-40...where exactly this building was, detail of the plane on the roof itself...anything like that?

Thanks again in advance to all who post responses.

--Tom in Seattle (and darn near to Everett! :D )

Here's a few from Oshkosh '05. Scott Hansen was flying the last time they would have the P-40 at KOSH, Scott was a pretty cool guy, he even pulled up along the B-25 just so I could grab a few shots. 8)

Thanks for the link Jim...cool that the airplane is now painted up as Col. Scott's "Old Exterminator".

And John and Trey...BEAUTIFUL photographs guys! Thanks so much for posting those. That had to be something to see that P-40 cruising alongside so close like that...my camera would've needed drool removal servicing after viewing something like that!

Does anyone have any photos of it mounted on the roof of the gas station?

Thanks again for the great follow-ups.

My Dad got to that one to and made a deal with the gas station owner that he could take anything he wanted off the plane as long as it still looked the same from the road. My Dad took absolutely everything out of that plane. He even made fake control surfaces to put on it so he could take those to. Much of that airplane is in and on his E model P-40.
