I know people that have bought stuff from him but they went down there and looked at the stuff, made a deal, and took it away with them. Not so easy in your case unfortunately.

Yeah...that 2,000 mile drive gets a bit long! From all the PM's I've received it sounds as though he's just as tough to deal with in person as it is long distance. Of course it also wouldn't take 2 1/2 months to get the parts delivered either. After talking with so many people about this guy I've started to notice a disturbing trend. Everything goes smoothly until Ed receives payment....and then the problems start. :?

And I've been thinking, if he is committing fraud and stealing from all of these customers, then he is committing a crime! I think the Sherriff's should be notified and the fact that there is more than one victim strengthens the case. If mail is in involved then it could be federal mail fraud, which is a felony right?

Well...well...well...would you guess what was waiting for me outside my front door this afternoon when I came home from work?!

It looks as though miracles do happen and that Mr. Kaletta has in fact finally honored this transaction after all. It only took 2 1/2 months to finally complete the deal but at least I finally received it. :D I want to thank everyone for their support and suggestions regarding this whole nightmare. I also appreciated the many stories I received from folks which in a way made me feel somewhat greatfull that I didn't get shafted out of thousands like some others out there. My next avenue was the local law enforcement (thanks for the heads-up John  ) but now I won't have to go through that hassle.

The ammo cans are in rough shape just like the other ball turret parts which is what I expected. I've already lined up a guy who's a genious with sheet metal and plan to have these cans restored to factory fesh condition. 8)

Thanks again everybody!

John

I bought some AT6 parts from him years ago.He said they were NOS parts but of course when I got them they were all corroded and had water dripping out of them.I called Ed and he was going to send my money back but that was 1989 and I still haven't seen it.That was my one and last dealing with him.Charlie Cartledge

Sorry to hear about that Charlie! The "bait & switch" tactic is a recurring theme with many of the folks I've talked to and appears to be a favorite of is.

Hey John,

Since you provided "before" photos of the ammo can, can you post some "after" photos of the ammo cans after the sheet metal guy finishes restoring them?

Better yet, do you think that you can talk him into taking a few pictures as the work is in progress, so we can see what goes into restoring beat up A/C parts? It would be good PR for him if he does that sort of thing for a living.

Thanks,

Mac

Hey Jim...I'll see what I can do. The guy's going to give me an estimate in a couple days and I have a feeling it won't be cheap either. Oh well...considering the rarity of these cans I'd be more than happy to dump some more $$$ into them.
