I fly Southwest to Ontario when I visit Chino - it's only a 10-minute drive from there.

Yep... I found a great airfare from DFW into ONT. Will arrive on the grounds early and depart late... which means parking is NOT a problem! :D

ps...how about someone, who's familiar with the area, suggest a few other airports I could try.
Long Beach (LGB) and John Wayne/Orange County (SNA) are both about a 45 minute drive from Chino (assuming you aren't going during rush hour). I suppose you could also try Burbank, still under an hour. Ontario would still be the best of course. I wouldn't fly out of LAX unless I had no alternative!

When I flew in for Chino last year I checked the fares to both LAX and ONT. The fare to ONT was cheaper even though it involved connecting through LAX on the exact flight I would have gone to LAX on. So in effect the airline paid me for a pleasant and scenic air taxi ride across the LA basin to the neighborhood I wanted to go to. So it's worth checking out.

Couple of questions for the Chino insiders on the board.

1. Have the Hurri and Spit XIV been serviceable/flying lately?

2. Any word of participation by Yanks in the static display for the show this year? Just occurs to me that a 4th P-38 on the flight line would look mighty nice.

Haven't seen either of them fly in a while. I think the Hurricane might have had the radiator removed for service.

Yanks had their P-38 out on the line a couple of years ago and provided a Thunderbolt last year. They are usually willing to support where they can but don't want to take focus away from the Planes of Fame event.

I believe Yanks had the Jug out in 2005, but nothing at all last year. That surprised me a little as I know they always used to roll out one or two planes, and I hoped there hadn't been a falling out with POF.
