Robin Olds has been hospitalized in Steamboat Springs, Col. His condition is not expected to improve. He is not taking E-Mails or phone calls. He has been upbeat inspite of his dire condition.

If you would like to send a card , he is in the

Yampa Valley Regional Medical Center

Yesterday, my wife Pat called Robin's daughter Chris to check on Robin, who she befriended a few years ago. Chris emailed back that after almost losing her father last week, he had made "a great turn-around and has gained strength every day." She went on to say that while he was still in ICU they hope to be able to move him to a rehabilitation bed in the hospital in the next couple of days. She asked us to spread the good word and thanked all the family, friends and fighter pilots buddies who had been around him and encouraging him these last few weeks.

We will all just have to see how things go but as "strong willed" as Robin is, who knows what he may do. If you don't know Robin very well, you may not appreciate the humor in that description. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. If we learn more, I'll share it with you. If any of his friends want to contact me about the above, feel free to PM me.

Randy

A fews years back we had the B-25 at the Eugene air Show when Gen. Olds was the guest of honor. We had adjoining hotels rooms and had breakast together 3 days in a row. What a down to earth guy. He accepted my invite and stolled over to see the 25 and we gave him the grand tour. I asked him if he'd ever flown a B-25 and he replied in the positive saying it was one of the best birds he'd ever flown. Upon saying that he pulled out his wallet and put $200 into our donation bomb in front of the bomber explaining that if his fighter pilot buddies ever found out he'd never live it down 8)

I just got around to watching the Dogfights episode featuring him. One of the best episodes yet. I liked the glide mode 109 kill!
