Having recently found this website is one of my most favorite warbird related things in a long time What a great group of people indeed!!

I am a member and volunteer at the Grissom Air Museum. I drive the 81 miles one way every weekend to do whatever I can to help out in some small way. Hope to begin going to the Indiana Aviation Museum in Valpo and lend a hand there also as time permits. EAA member, member of the American Air Museum in Great Britain, subscribe to all of the warbird related magazines and try to make it to every airshow within about 350 miles from home...from Oshkosh to Detroit to Cleveland to Indy. Great place to live here in Indiana as there are so many warbird or just plain aviation related activities to see and go to. Can't forget either that you always meet some of the greatest people on the planet at the airshows and museums!

That's pretty cool - I was planning on contacting the museum folks at Grissom soon. My N2S-3 project (BuNo 05284) was based at Grissom during the war when it was NAS Bunker Hill, and I was interested to see if the museum happened to have any photos of it or the other N2S's from that period ('42-'46).

Well, let's see. I guess you could say I'm actively involved. Been a member of National Capitol Squadron of CAF for 8 or so years. I'm the Asst Maintenance Officer, wrenching on the BT-13 and L-5 the Squadron owns. I also have pulled the PX trailer to most every airshow the Squadron has been at for the last 5 years. I put in an insane amount of time on the CAF and warbirds, because I love doing it. Also a member of Old Dominion Squadron, Del Valley Wing, and the Berlin Airlift Historical Foundation.

Oh yeah, the RedHead and I also own a 1941 Piper J-5A.

As the Public Information Officer for National Capitol Squadron (doing dual duty as webmistress), I guess you could say I am involved. I also scrape my knuckles and smash my thumbs helping with maintenance:D

Hrm... well, I did work around some warbirds masquerading as cargo planes in Ohio for a while. Now I'm just spending time cleaning the ones in the hangar down the street and getting myself volunteered for the occasional project.

Either way, I get to listen to radials every weekend, although I miss hearing the Allison 501s every night from my days in Ohio.
