It is, that was taken in Williams Az, we were performing for the Route 66 Days and were on part of the original RT 66. BTW, I am on right in that shot. I could do full lock turns to the left while looking right, all I did was keep my mirror next to my leaders mirror. We would have 3 pairs of bikes in a 30 x 60 ft box, riding the parimeter of the box, then a figure 8 and circle and exit.

My truck with another of Hans's planes, you might remember seeing it is a movie a while back called The Flight of the Phoenix.


Todays jobs were to get the cowl flaps opened on the rt engine, the motor has seized and it was interesting trying to work the disconnectes thru the exhaust opening. Finally got in there and removed the motor and then used a drill on the flex shaft to open the cowl flaps. We then ran the C-119> we can't go much higher than idle where it is parked as the C-1A and part of the PBY's wing is behind the 119's props. We ran it up to 1500 rpm one time and found out later that the PBY's wing was rocking up and down 2 ft. That 119 really pushes the air.

next was the C-1A Trader, Bulle Dawge, chased down a oil leak on the rt oil cooler control valve.

then over to the Invader to adjust the carb linkage.

Monday I have to fly a Piper 140 over for a transponder cert and when I get back it is run the Dawge again and install the batteries in the Invader and start adjusting the mixture.

I think your out of oil My VTX 1800

Ok, here's mine then. Nice VTX BTW. Funny story, one of the instructors I work with teaching the MSF courses also has a VTX 1800. Both of our bikes were sitting in front of the classroom last summer and because the VTX is SOOO top heavy, his sidestand had sunk several inches into the soft asphault nearly laying the bike over on it's side. Mine was still sitting normally. He let me ride it once because he said he couldn't do u-turns inside an 18' space (size we use for the MSF class) because it was so long. I rode it around the range a couple of minutes to get used to the weight and then went in and did the u-turn box in about 16' dragging his foot boards on either side. Afterwards he was like "uhhhh I guess it WILL do it"
