Was wondering, are civil pilots allowed to fly military jets like the F-15? Or for none pilots, rides? I was just curious.

Thanks all you friendly folks,

There are a couple civilian guys who fly Eagles, but they're all contract pilots for Boeing.

I have given a ride to a civilian, and seen several others. They were all community leaders or politicians.

The only way I can think of(getting a ride) is by financing someones reelection, either that invent a longer lasting lightbulb.

Since the submarine crash in Hawaii a few years ago, no civilians are allowed to touch the controls of government aircraft, per congressional mandate or such. Contract/company civilian pilots of military aircraft are given waivers or something similar.

I've seen news reporters getting a ride with the Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds in the #7 aircraft prior to the shows. Nice perk.

Yes, many VIPs are currently being given rides, as well reporters. But they are prohibited from touching the controls of the aircraft.
Agreed - nice perk!
