So a few weeks ago I posted a question about finding a place to go around Chicago while my wife was at the hairshow . Thanks for the advice everyone. I thought I'd share my trip if you're interested.

First thing was to get the transportation in order. Nothing like replacing balljoints in a snowstorm. I had to blow off my tools with compressed air every two minutes so I didn't lose them in the snow :x .

After our super exciting 10 hour drive in the snowstorm we finally made it. I wanted to try the 94th Aero Squadron restaurant so we went over to check it out. Apparently we were way too early so we decided to wait a day. I took a pic anyway.

I had an entire day to screw around so I headed to Kalamazoo. For some reason Michigan is one of the only states I hadn't been to so I think that was a contributing factor in deciding where to go. I understand none of the collection currently flies, but I really enjoyed the museum. It was a very nice facility and I was plesantly surprised to see quite a few people touring it on a Sunday afternoon. Some of my favorites were:

When I got back, we tried to go the the 94th restaurant again. We got there around 8pm on Sunday night and were a little surprised. It was singles night and there was a dance party going on. I had no problem with that, but I didn't think my wife would appreciate me participating in the festivities. She says I'm too much of a ladies man  . Oh well. I got to look around inside a little before we left and it looked like a cool place. Maybe next time.

Monday we had to head back, but along the way made a couple more stops. First was at Courtesy:

Then at Heritage Aero where we saw a load of T-28s...

...and a certain T-33.

It was a fun trip and I look foreward to next time. Thanks again to everyone for all the ideas! :D

Wow, thanks for posting, that Zoo Museum looks incredible. I'd love to try and get down there sometime to see it in person.

Cheers,

David

Were there any 'uncertain' T-33s at Rockford?
