Tonite on the History Channel "Mail Call" has its season premier. Gunney will be doing the show from the Natl Museum of the USAF. Sounds like I just might have to tune in.

"Host Gunnery Sergeant R. Lee Ermey is on location at the National Museum of the United States Air Force at historic Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. First, Lee tours the museum and he reveals the fascinating story (and rare footage) of the highest bailout in history from an American aircraft. Then he tells the history of the Lockheed Starlifter, the Vietnam-era cargo plane made famous when one was designated "The Hanoi Taxi". Lee also attends a reunion of the surviving POWs who flew on the Hanoi Taxi; then, he reveals the truth about UFOs and the Air Force's top secret Project Bluebook. Finally, Lee gets to take the controls for some real stick time in a vintage B-25 Mitchell Bomber."

I wonder whose B-25?

Gunny will be at the controls of "Panchito" tonight!
They shot the segment last May at Cherry Point, NC.
He told me it was as much fun as flying the B-2!

It was a great show and excellent segment. Congrats on the exposure for you and the DAV, Jerry.

Hope we see more things like this in the future. I hear History Channel is looking for some other opportunities in the future for historic aircraft shows, so who knows, someone here might become a TV star... :)

I got a kick out of how he said flying in Panchito was the best ride he'd ever had. So much for the B-2

This sounds like Gary's golden opportunity!!! Instead of "This Old House" the show could be "This old Warbird" starring Gary Austin and his trusty side-kick inspector, "Mosquito" the cat.

I'm sure he's been bombarded with mail over the years from the conspiracy theorists and members of the tin foil hat brigade demanding answers on what kinds of UFO's are secretly stored at Wright Patterson.

At the beginning of the show, first 5 minutes or so, there was a P-38 Stroller with a kid in it. My wife has me on a mission, find one!!

Has anyone seen anything being sold like that online?
