Doolittle Raider Passes on...

Sun Mar 25, 2007 10:35 pm

Received the sad word late yesterday that Doolittle Raider, Japanese POW survivor, and hero Chase Nielsen died yesterday in Utah. This leaves 14 living Raiders.

Very sad. I was just looking at teh Goblets that are now on display at the NMUSAF, and was thinking about how few were left.

My dear friend Jake DeShazer is not well. In his 90s he has advanced Parkinson's disease.

Very sad. Dick Winters from the 101st AB, 506th PIR Easy Company is also suffering from the same illness. I can't stress enough to everyone to really enjoy these next few seasons of airshow with these guys as guests. We are losing them fast.

Has information if anyone's in Utah and would want to try and attend the services.
