There are two PBY-5A Cansos in South Western BC. One in Tofino (or is there two?) and there's one underwater near Victoria.

Other planes I'd like to see recovered include any planes from Greenland (P-38's and whatnot), any Lend-lease planes that went down on their way to Russia. I imagine there's a bunch. And... I the B-24 in a lake somewhere in Eastern Canada that I heard about a little while ago.

I don't think so. I'm pretty sure they're still down there, and, being Navy aeroplanes, are likely to remain there indefinitely. :(

Actually, I think they are in "storage". I heard the Navy is going top create an underwater "as found" display of the Sparrowhawks and the Macon. Only it's 10,000 feet under the Pacific Ocean! :cry:

I wish they'd get with the program! Their lack of foresight really makes them look ridiculous.

Alan Bunte's 4th FG P51B that he put in the lake south of Potsdamn the same day Duane Beeson went down to flak.

An original 4th bird would be like gold to me.

The 54th FS P38E that John Geddes ditched in Massacre Bay after being damaged by fire from a Japanese bomber. I love the look of those early model 38s.

i heard of rumors of a fully intact B-17 in New England. I believe it was Maine, but dont hold me to this.

The story is that somehow this B-17 crashed and they either buried it or its in a cave.

Again its a bit fuzzy but ill try to find the story.

the sparrowhawks are still down their. the current air & space smithsonian magazine which i received this week had an article about a recent survey on the wreck. the biplanes are all their, & supposedly in decent shape, you can discern their image by the side scan radar image.

A rebuildable Hawker Typhoon. Would be nice to hear a Napier Sabre go screaming by. A great workhorse that seems perpetually overlooked.

Yes, there is a Sparrowhawk at NASM.
It used to be in Pensacola.
