T-6's and P-51's in Aguilera's CandyMan video

Fri Mar 30, 2007 7:56 pm

I'm sure most you haven't seen Christina Aguilera's new music video for the song CandyMan. I was flipping channels and caught some of it. She plays different parts in the video (has a WWII feel); like Andrews sisters, Rosie the Riveter, a sexy WAC, etc. One part of the video is shot in a hangar, behind her are what appear to be 2 yellow T-6's. As the camera pulls back, she is flanked by what appear to be 2 P-51's (only the noses are visible, one blue and one yellow). My question is, does anyone know which specific aircraft these are?

BTW if you do a search for Aguilera CandyMan Video, you can find a site to watch it.

I know one of the T-6s belongs to the CAF SoCal wing. There is also a shot of soldiers stepping out of a plane. That's our C-46. Dan Newcomb watched it being filmed and can probably tell you who the other planes belong to.

P-51D 44-63350/N51TK Lou IV is one. Where was it filmed?

I spent 10 hours on a cold and wet winter’s day at Camarillo Airport moving airplanes for the music video. The food was good! Our wing of the CAF does a lot of movie and TV work so this is old hat. Fellow wing member Paul Besterveld owned Lou IV. The SNJ 290 belongs to the wing as does C-46 China Doll. CAF membership does have its advantages!!!!!

Looks like a vinyl stick-on to me. "Laying" on top of CD's existing nose art.

She doesn't look like a 'China' doll to me....but I wouldn't complain.

I have to say that I really like the new nose art. We actually went to Jr. High together.
