Doesn't that face just have a slight resemblance to a very famous and recent Acadamy Award winning actor, Borat?

1983, I had just acqiured a warbird and a new son; those two things will change your life. The hairstyle was in style, originally Elvis then copied by Travolta in SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE.

Naw OP, that's how us diesel pirates dressed all the time when we were operating away from the fleet..just one of the perks!
Actually, we had passed quals for ASTOR in Dago and were in transit to the Bangor-mart to pickup our nuke. We encountered a huge-ass storm off of
San Francisco and had to ride it out on the surface for 2 days in sea state 9.   I'm pretty thrashed in the photo because one of my reliefs on lookout watch couldn't handled the vertigo from lack of horizon :vom: , so I took his L/O's and he did my part of the helmwatch. Spent most of those port and starboards chest deep in water at the bottom of the trough. I loved it!!! Might be going to h e l l in a bucket baby, but at least I'm enjoyin' the ride! :D

Amen Brother, and I'm glad folks like you were there to "get my slot" on the nukes!!
First choice on dreamsheet New London, was a Nuke fast attack/Hawaii!

Far away from the PC crowd ehhhh OP? I'm pretty sure that's not "heavenly duty"....that Detailer has horns and a ptchfork
See ya there Bro!!!

It's not about the year Bill, It's about the period after boot camp and schools where you came into your own amongst your contemporaries in the
service and were actually doing the job you trained for. OP's was '83, mine was '75. From reading your previous posts Bill, I'd assume we're talking
your time in the ANG at La Porte during 'Nam. Those would be some really interesting photos ...since I'm in that 'hood nowadays..

Flavor savor,,,heheeeee

It took me hmmmmm, 20 years to get rid of that. I thought it looked cool. I haven't heard that since then. Now....I shave, sometimes....hehheeheee

The hair... Man look at the hair, I rock. It wasn't a "pompadour", what you see there is me having hair. All of that is being blown back by the wind. It's all grey now, and it is a lot thiner, Not bald, just thin. And really grey.

Mannnnnmn Airnutz I have a couple of zillion of those too. Only qualified lookout. That happened twice, at least. Looking up at a wave out in the IO, Having the hatch shut under me an the Eng. Watching everyone get swept off topside off of Hong Kong bodeida, Freezing almost to death out of New London........Not good

The flavor savor is gone, at least three days out of the week, heeee
