P6E Replica

Tue Apr 03, 2007 4:32 pm

Here is a short video of one of the first taxi tests of Keith Roof's awesome plans-built P6E Hawk replica. This plane has been built entirely from plans by Keith, an award-winning homebuilder. Listen that great-sounding Chevy V-8 engine!

Does not seem full size ( may be wrong here ) but still nice never the less.

Looks to be about half-scale, The original had a V-12 Curtiss Conquerer of about twice the horsepower and was a single seat pursuit.

Actually looks pretty close to me. The cowl has been adjusted and does not apear to be as large as the original.

I recall seeing the origianl at the Wright Pat museum and thinkg that it was pretty small.

Is this the one that has been written up in Sport Aviation over the years? I seem to recall that was 75% or 80% scale.

I do not think so.

I remember pics of the other & the amount of details & finish was much closer to the original than this one.

I think in ended up in a museum somewhere. Not sure however.
