Texas ANG P-51D Mustangs

Sun Apr 01, 2007 5:08 pm

I am looking for authentic TEX ANG P-51 Mustang images from the appropriate time period. I believe that there were three squadrons based in San Antonio, Houston and Dallas. The planes had stripes on the tail that were red, yellow and blue, depending on what city/squadron they belonged to. Any help is greatly appreciated. This is for paintng a homebuilt scaled P-51 Mustang.

that's the regular USAF 'buzz-code' FF-447 that was removed when the a/c was transferred to the ANG

"FF" was the designator for F-51 type, "447" was the 'last three' of the serial number...
