Any one else read the story on him in this month's Viet Nam magazine?

A true hero in every sense of the word.

I haven't seen that one but will have to check it out. My favorite "Nam" story is that of Medal of Honor Winner Chief Warrant Officer Frederick Ferguson. He was awarded the MOH during the battle of Hue in 1968 while piloting and leading a group of Hueys on a rescue mission to save some besieged South Vietnamese soldiers inside the city. I read a really good in-depth article about this mission years ago and it was absolutely unbelieveable. According to the accounts the small arms fire was so thick that nearly all the choppers had to be scrapped after the mission. The door gunners recalled mowing down dozens of NVA soldiers as they marched through some the streets of Hue while holding flags in a victory parade! There were so many targets that the door gunners quickly expended all their ammo and resorted to using the pilot and co-pilot's .38 revolvers! That had to been one awesome sight to see! 8)

Here's a link to Ferguson's MOH write-up. If I can find a more in-depth article about this mission I'll share the link as well.
