The BT-13 gas station is too cool.
The scene reminded me of the work of an artist, Al Richardson of Shirley, Ark. Al has a vast portfolio of old car and truck, gas station, garage and small airport drawings that you can order and personalize with your choice of names or brands on stuff like signage or fuselage sides etc.
I have a couple of old truck watercolors he did and I had him do one for my dad in a duplicate of his old company pickup in an oil field with his name on the 'lease' sign.
This scene is the sort of thing Al likes to work with. I havent' been able to contact him lately, but there is a Dairy Queen here in Brenham, Tx. that always has the wall decorated with Al's work.
Anybody else here seen his drawings or heard of him?

I once saw a photo of a Muffler Shop or something like it with a Buzz Bomb on the roof! Anyone have a shot of that one?

Funny, That BT-13 is one the way from Lemoore NAS to FRESNO. I stopped and asked the guy where they got it and he said it was a carcas abandoned sitting at the old base Army Airfield that was right out the main gate of Nas lemoore ( Out the main gate to the right and down the road 2 miles is an old army airfeild now owned by farmers . the hangers are still there.or were in 82

Not a warbird but scroll down to the March 22, 2004 entry in this blog and click to enlarge the picture. This has to be really uncomfortable for Ronald.

This one isn't a warbird either, but I saw it in Wisconsin on my way home from the EAA museum: Image

I can't for the life of me remember what town it was in. Anybody know any more about it?
