I was at the Texas Airplane Factory on Tuesday to see what was going on with the first proto-type. It was up on jacks and they were doing gear retraction tests getting ready for the first flight. I was told that it should fly in the next few days.
I hope someone in Ft.Worth will give us an update when that happens.
The #2 wing looked almost complete and ready to mount on the second Oscar.

I have no idea how far along the next one is actually. I was just making an observation that it looked to be fairly far along to me. I think that getting any bugs worked out of the first one will help expedite the remaining models.
It is good to see the first one almost finished. I wish them the best and hope they will sell them all to folks who will put them in the airsow circuit for the of us to see fly.

I doubt they would scrap them, I'm sure if worse comes to worse some museums would get them. The Collings Foundation should see about getting one and pairing it with the Corsair, now that would be neat.

They'll all sell, as will all of the 262 reproductions. They'll either get the price they want, sell them in time at a reduced rate, donate them as a tax write off, or ultimately auction them off as part of a bankruptcy sale. There's too much blood, sweat & tears in those airframes for their creators to simply take a torch to them.

I'm hoping the entire number of FW-190s projected to be built by Flug Werk are seen through to fruition. I think only about four or five of the basic fuselage kits have been built thus far. Like the Oscars, I personally think they won't have much trouble selling them off once the prototypes become the subject of a few color spreads in the popular magazines, and make the rounds on the air show scene. They're not asking too terrible a price IMO for such a rare & unique type.

And a few (one) stay in the air will help out also. I would not invest until I know that I'm getting my money's worth.

FYI I understand that 13 of the Flug Werk FW 190's have been sold so far including two long nose Jumo variants, as reported in the article in January 05's Flypast magazine. Just go's to show that you can't believe everything you hear on the net.
