F-4 for warbirds?

Any likely chances of US warbirders to acquire a foreign or AMARCd F-4 in future?

It literally took and act of Congress for Collings to get access to their F-4, and the USAF has put policies into place to prevent any further turbojet powered aircraft into service with a civil tail number.

Look at the F-105 engine mount issue recently.

That wasn't USAFon the F-105 . It was NMUSAF. The policies haven't been changed. They still think that DoD policy supercedes public law.

I side with you guys on much of it. I feel that there is no reason why an F-105, or an F-4 shouldn't be allowed on the warbird circuit. There only thing I don't know about is what to do with things like the F-14 and the F-117 when they come out of service. You can't just let anyone have one because there are countries that would love to get their hands on them.

I agree with what you said but there is also a bunch of countries who'd love to get their hands on a F-4 or F-105. But I'm all for seeing those jets on the circuit. :lol:

Well, if the Air Force continues to fly F-4s to air shows, that could solve the problem. I really don't care who owns them (civilian or military) as long as they are still flying! It would be nice if the Navy had 3-4 F-14s to fly to air shows for Legacy Flights!

well the usn did have 43yr old F-4B phantoms flying until recently also... shame they didnt keep a heirtage idea too ... a few F-4B finey tuned as warbirds would beeen fine recruitment tools

There is no difference between the USAF and the NMUSAF. Both of their policies originate in the Pentagon, and they both use the same playbook.

I agree that we really need an F-4 in Navy or Marine Corps markings for Navy Legacy Flights.
