An ME109 is now at the CAF Missouri Wing . Someone brought it for static display. It has wing corrosion issues so I don't know if its flyable. Anyone have any info on this bird? Here's some numbers I got off a tag on the left fuselage near the firewall and a few pics.............John
Gerat-Nr: BF109-G-6

No idea on this one... that Wk.Nr. doesn't tally with any I have been able to find. Did it come with a spare DB engine, as it appears to have in your photos? Very interesting, and many thanks for posting.

Cheers,
Richard

It sounds like a real Werk Nummer, but I couldn't find it on the list of surviving 109s on preservedaxisaircraft.com.

It's a rebuilt Buchon, formerly with EADS.

EADS is European Aeronautic Defense and Space company. Numerous mergers of companies which Messeschmitt is now part of.
Messerschmitt AG/Messerschmitt-Bolkow-Blohm/DASA/EADS.

Mike

Most probably the photos show this example:
http://www.messerschmitt-bf109.de/web.p ... lugzeug=63

It was rebuild by Arthur Williams in the seventies by using a Spanish Hispano build airframe. First flown in 1982 but crashed 1983. Since then stored elsewhere.
