This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

I saw on another forum that P-51C "Princess Elizabeth" has a new owner in Pennsylvania? If it's true it will be great since I live in Pennsylvania. Does anyone have more information? I wonder if there would be any chance of her coming to Geneseo!

What a beautiful machine.

It is true. Jim Beasley of Philadelphia is now the owner.

Nathan...Nathan...Nathan...It's just another of the ubiquitous P-51s. We need more twin engine fighters. (Is that too subtle?)
How about Geneseo and MAAM? After all, PHL is only about 30 minutes away from Reading.

Mudge, nothing I'd rather see more then a P-322 Lightning. Too bad there's none around.

Nathan,
Both of Jim's Mustangs are currently in Chino and both were looking in beautiful condition today - Princess Elizabeth wasn't put together as of last weekend. I'm sure both will be heading back east soon. Don't know if they'll stay out here for the airshow or not.

What did I read the other day that Patty Wagstaff was going to fly the third Beasley mustang to Columbus?

But Mudge, I never said I was a P-51 freak.

I just like to see a rare Mustang for a change.
P-38? HA! On my old message board we(not me two other posters) had debates all the time over the P-51 and the P-38. They weren't really heated, just plain funny. It all started when one man asked a question. What if Finland had to chose over the P-51 or P-38? And one man mentioned the P-38 would have been better, another disagreed. Ever since then it has been non-stop. And we are talking about a discussion going on near 5 years now!

Where in Pennsylvania will it be based?

KPNE, Northeast Philly, I think. Somebody else can confirm this for me. We go there instead the main airport..

Jim has three - Frenesi, Bald Eagle, and now the Princess. Yes - Jim soloed Patty in the mustang... do not know which one he's going to let her fly... if it was me, I'd guess one of the 'D's. The cockpit layout between the B/C and D is somewhat significant....
Last I heard, there as a bit of a 'tie up' with the FAA paperwork. I know the original plan was for Jim to fly the Princess back to PA this past Thursday, but have not heard if that transpired.

Jim has moved operations from Northeat Philadelphia Airport to Chester Couonty Airport near Coatesville, PA.
The latest word is that as soon as the FAA paperwork is finalized, Jim will be picking the airplane up from Chino and flying it back to Chester County Airport possibly as soon as this weekend coming up (April 14-15)
I have been in contact with Jim and hope to be there when he arrives and get pictures. If all goes according to plans (which it usually dosen't for one reason or another) I'll post them here.
