So what happened at Freeman Field? I see it was made a historical site, and I'm sure that stopped it...

By now, Lex and Dallas were running into parts of aircraft, i.e. wheel faring doors (at least one from a Spitfire),

Just about every evaluation period shot of Mk VII Spitfire EN474, now at the Smithsonian, shows it without undercarriage doors.

Here is a shot I took at Silverhill in June 1972.

Lightnings, Twin-Stangs and Warhawks have been dug up in Alaska, and Warhawks and Razorback Jugs in the Pacific.

Bits and pieces are on display in the restored control tower at Framlingham, UK. A lot of stuff that has been uncovered in farmers fields over the years. If I remember correctly, they even have some parts from the Kennedy B-24 the detonated off the coast...

They do but are you sure it was off the coast? The pieces didn't look water damaged to me...but I've never studied the incident.
