Easter sunday was bright & warm in England, so a trip to visit a few bases of the past was taken upon. 2 bases were viewed today, Thorpe Abbotts & Parham ( Framlingham ).
I've also included Bodney, pic was taken during the winter months.

Hey Martyn,

Thanks so much for posting those photos. I have yet to take the opportunity to travel to Great Britain and travel around to some of the WWII historical sites that remain. Its really nice to get a view of some of them through your splendid photographs!!

Those are sweet. It is cool to see that some of the buildings have been restored. The nissen huts from the 4th FG were moved to NMUSAF years ago, and it is so cool to go in them. I only hope that I will someday get to these places to seem them as well.

Terrific and poignant photos :) I believe one of the Bodney boys crashed into the corner of that tower during a night take off.

The large building at Parham, is that a main hangar?

those current shots still depict the flavor of the era they were to memorialize. the rooster display with the story is especially cool. thanks for sharing.

It is heartwarming to see that some still appreciate the sacrifices made by the US to foster freedom around the world.

Great pictures! I spent a lot of time exploring the field and tower at Framlingham in the late 80's when I was stationed at RAF Woodbridge. Neat place...
