Hallo Martin,

Guess he had to explain something afterwards as normally it wasn't allowed after some accidents...

Greetings from Belgium,

That photo reminds me of a story my Dad once told me.
He was studying in his dorm at Notre Dame one Sunday morning in 1943 when he head a loud racket. He looked down out of the third floor window just as a P-38 flew by below him! It banked up and over the Gold ND Dome and hi-tailed it outta there. He said it was probably a recent graduate on his way overseas.
Dad said it was one of the neatest things he'd ever seen.

This seems Italy. Do you know the exact location?

Interesting, has anyone noticed the flaps down, seems odd for a "Buzz job", maybe more of a look see for a gear problem ???

TIA

I think that is the "combat flap" setting that a P-38 has...
