Japanese A/C Parts question

Sun Apr 08, 2007 7:08 am

In conversation with a friend yesterday, he mentioned that the home his grandmother lived in in the Phillipines was once occupied by Japanese Mechanics duing the war. According to he and his brother (Not aviation guys), there's a whole mess of a/c parts in the attic, along with what he thinks are landing gear for a Zero.

Who in the US might be interested in this stuff, and might it be worth it for he and his brother "Cleaning out the attic" and bringing the stuff home to the US?

I would think that any Japanese aircraft components would be almost priceless. Don't know what kind of restrictions the Phillipine government migh put on the sale, though. They may declare them historical artifacts, and tie the whole thing up in so much red tape it's not worth the effort. (This isn't a slam against the Phillipine gov't or anything..beuracracy is pretty much the same the world over..)

Zero parts

Those would be some good parts to have $$$$. The C.A.F So. California Wing might be interested in those parts.
