I'm a new member, though a long time lurker. This is just to see if I have the photo posting thing down...

Also, I ended up with a different user name than I thought I was signing up for (I'm better with cameras than with computers, obviously). Any way to change the user name?

I guess I don't have the photo thing down! Now I need to figure out what I did wrong. Sorry -- maybe I should have included the IMG?

Thank you for the compliments.

I know there are those here who don't like Air Racing, but I've been photographing the sport for over 30 years, and have many interesting images. Is there interest here in the occasional photo from the Races over the years?

cg51 -- my congratulations to your Dad -- I've always loved the look of this aircraft and it has some really wonderful metalwork. Did he do the cowling too? I have always thought it was truly amazing considering that it had to be done from scratch with no patterns to work from...

How about Jimmy Leeward's Cloud Dancer at Reno 1978?

You do have to go to Reno at least once before it all ends ( which it has to do at some point -- the encroachment of suburbia around Stead is getting scary and the cost of fielding a racer is getting horrifying). Reno is the only place you'll ever get to see ( and hear!) these machines at full song. There is no sound in this world quite like the sound of a Merlin at 3200 rpm!

Wonderful shots Neal. Did we meet on the pylons last year? I was one of the three Brits in the press mob!
