Yak-3 Status

Does anyone have any info. on a Yak-3 that arrived at American Aero Services back in 2002, see photos here:

I thought I read that it was then owned by the Collings Foundation. Any idea of it's current location and identity?

I contacted the Foundation about the Yak for the articles we are doing in Classic Wings on the type, they said it was in store and would check the identity for me ( most likely 0470105 ).

Seeing the article on the Yaks in Classic Wings got me thinking of the Collings aircraft.
This is a former Bob Yancey aircraft I believe. Was the aircraft ever flown?

its most likely one of the new build yaks, in 92 they found the old yak factory in the ural mountains and enough parts to make 10? new yaks, although the wings are not normal yak3 wings and they use allison V-12's

there was one on ebay for 200k

I recall seeing a Yak at the Wiley Post airport in Oklahoma City, OK back in October 2000. It was being worked on by the same guys who were working on Miss America.

The factory was not 'found', it was set up next to an aviation factory as a separate entity after a deal was worked out between them, Yakovlev OKB ( who later pulled out) and Flight Magic of the U.S. It has produced over 20 new Yaks, both 3 & 9s. It will however produce no more. The Collings Yak is one of them.
