Folks I am sorry to let you all know that Jack Cook lost his house last night to a fire. Everyone is OK some burns and smoke inhalation but OK. He did lose two cats but saved one and his dog. The bad news is he will be off line for awhile as he lost his computer and approx 10,000 of his pictures as well as a lot of medals and uniforms he was given.. the house is mostly gone with not much to save.. Keep him in your thoughts as he works through this setback...

Oh.... that is heartbreaking! I cannot imagine how awful he must feel. He and his family are very lucky to have survived, but it must be truly devastating to him to have lost all of those photographs and memories. Losing his pets must have been a real blow too. Please send him our very best wishes for a speedy recovery. I am sure that everyone here is just as saddened by this news as I am. Take care Jack!

Richard

That's terrible. I am still pretty new here, but I enjoyed the pictures he posted and the posts he wrote. Let him know that my family will keep him in our thoughts and prayers.

What a nightmare -- Jack -- you and your family are in our prayers.

Take care, and good luck with it all...

I certainly echo vg-photo (Eric) in this very sad loss and the possibility of no more photos from Jack.

God speed to him and his family in recovering from this terrible incident.

This is just horrible. My prayers are with jack and his family.

Is there anything we (WIX'ers) might be able to d to help in his time of need?

Can we have an auction or something to help him?

Sorry to hear about this...at least everyone made it out alive (except for the two cats which I'm sure were still part of the family  ). I'll be thinking of him and his family.

I will be happy to offer a copy of "Band of Brothers" personally signed by Wild Bill Guarnere and Babe Heffron to the highest bidder with all proceeds going to Jack.

If this is OK with the powers that be?

Oh wow... what a shock. From the title of the thread I was expecting to hear that he was having ISP problems or something minor like that. This is terrible...

I'm not a praying kinda guy, but will be keeping him in my thoughts.

Please keep us updated as to his situation...
